GROUNDING

Located at the base of the spine, this chakra is our foundation and the foundation for the entire energy system. Before we work on any other chakra we must work on this one first. This is the center of our core beliefs and our personal history. The Root Chakra is our point of entry to self discovery. Its associated healing color is RED. It represents the element EARTH, and is therefore related to our survival instincts, to our sense of grounding and connection to our bodies and the physical plane, and the ability to support oneself in the physical world. If this chakra works properly it brings us health, prosperity, security, a sense of loyalty and the ability to take care of ourselves.

FEELING

The second chakra, located in the abdomen, lower back, and sexual organs, is related to the element WATER, and to emotions, sexuality, regenerative organs in both male and female bodies, its color is ORANGE. It is the center of our feelings and creativity. It is where we learn how to handle power; it is our center of passion and abundance. It connects us to others through feeling, desire, sensation, and movement. If this chakra is balanced, it brings us fluidity and grace, depth of feeling, sexual fulfillment, and the ability to accept change.

POWER AND WILL

This chakra is known as the power chakra and is the emotional center. It is located in the solar plexus, the color associated with this chakra is YELLOW and the element is FIRE, it contains the energy of the Sun. This chakra is our power center and controls our personal power and will, ego identity, self esteem, nutritional digestion, spiritual assimilation, and all forms of elimination on all levels. It further rules our metabolism. If this chakra is in balance it brings us energy, effectiveness, spontaneity, and there is a sense of personal power and integrity.

LOVE

Located at the heart, this chakra is associated with the color green, or pink, the element is AIR . Within this center is the seed to divine healing and is the gift of this energy center. It is about giving and receiving unconditional love to all living beings and loving and accepting oneself. This is where we hold the image of our divine self. The heart chakra is the bridge between the lower three chakras and the upper three chakras, the meeting point of heaven and earth. It is from this chakra that the imperative Òhealer heal thyselfÓ emerges and is therefore the clearinghouse for negative emotions. A healthy fourth chakra allows us to love deeply, feel compassion, and have a deep sense of peace and centeredness.

Located at the base of the throat, this chakra is associated with the color light blue. This chakra is essential for the ability to speak oneÕs truth with loving compassion, self expression, communication and creativity. It is the window of our inner selves to the outer world. It is through the power of effective communication, the power of our breath and words, that we manifest our creative desires and aspirations. This chakra loves vibrations and sound, and it is where we begin to vibrate who we are into expression with our own voices. A healthy fifth chakra allows us to own our sense of self; to speak the truth and ask for what we need. We can communicate our feelings effectively and speak with a healing voice to others. It's element is ETHER/SOUND.

SIGHT

This chakra is known as the brow chakra or third eye center. It is located between the eyebrows and its associated healing color is indigo, or deep blue. It is related to the act of seeing, both physically and intuitively. This chakra opens our psychic abilities and our understanding of archetypal levels. It is the center of balanced thought between intuition and intellect. It is a place of dreams, vision and imagination. Here lies the gift of insight. Learning how to trust the intuitive voices within us is the challenge of this chakra. The third eye is the partner with the second chakra. Within the second chakra lies the essence of male and female in the physical world. In the third eye lies the essence of male and female in the spiritual world. Merging the intuitive and the intellect is the goal of this chakra, balancing both sides of the brain. It is the chakra of Divine illumination, inspiration, consciousness and understanding. Its element is LIGHT.

ONENESS AND BLISS

Located at the Crown of the head this chakra relates to consciousness as pure awareness. Its colors is violet. It is the place where we begin to live when we have healed the wounds of our personal history. It is our center of grace. The crown chakra teaches us how to manifest divine thought and divine will in the earthly plane. It is our connection to the greater world beyond, to a timeless, spaceless place of all-knowing. When developed, this chakra brings us knowledge, wisdom, understanding, spiritual connection, and bliss. Its element is also LIGHT.
